Gifts from narcissists. They can be extravagant. Just the thing you've always wanted. Narcisissts, despite being basically all about self, love giving gifts.
1) It brings them admirations
2) It looks good on their trophy wife so it makes husband look better.
When the wife of a narcissist begins choosing gifts for herself, she is in trouble. Her gifts will be belittled: another heating pad. more art supplies you will never get your money back for. gifts for her nieces--why bother? What have THEY done for you lately?
I always had a good comeback for that one. My family may not be perfect but they never disowned me hook line and sinker for ever and ever. Both ends, mother, sister...wife, sons. Wasn't that a clue?
No...it was so unfair of them. I was a higher creature who could see through to the good inside. Maybe I was. For a while. Even angels have to rest their wings.
Angels of Mercy become Angels of Death.
